York Viking Rotary is proud to announce its support for the Archbishop of York Youth Trust, a registered charity dedicated to empowering young people to transform society. We are deeply impressed with the Trust’s flagship initiative, the Archbishops’ Young Leaders Award, a programme shaping a generation to become strong leaders with deep faith and good character.
Your generous support goes a long way in helping the York Vikings Rotary Club in its mission to create lasting change. Donations directly fund our diverse projects, from enhancing education and health, to building safer infrastructure and fostering global peace. Each contribution, no matter the size, is an investment in our community and in a better world. By supporting the York Vikings Rotary Club, you become part of a legacy of service and commitment to improvement that spans over decades. Thank you for standing with us as we continue transforming lives, one project at a time.
Help empower the next generation of leaders by supporting the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). RYLA is a transformative experience that gives young people aged 14-30 the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, learn from inspiring mentors, and make lasting connections. These events, which can range from one-day seminars to week-long camps, are tailored to the needs of each community and provide invaluable learning experiences. Your generous donation can help cover costs and ensure more young leaders have the chance to unlock their potential, turn motivation into action, and create a positive impact in their schools and communities. Together, we can foster dynamic leadership and problem-solving skills that will shape a better future
Here at the York Vikings Rotary Club, we're dedicated to enhancing literacy for primary school children in York, making education as easy as ABC. With the generous donations collected during the Christmas period, we've been able to provide dictionaries to four primary schools in and around York: Naburn CE, Tang Hall, Heworth CE, and Lord Deramore’s in Heslington. Each school received 24 Usborne pictorial dictionaries and has also been gifted £150 to buy other books specifically for children who might not experience reading at home Now, we need your support. By donating to our cause, you're not only helping us continue this important work, but you're also giving these children the tools they need to succeed. Please join us in this initiative and help us turn the page towards a brighter future for all children. Read More
Join York Vikings Rotary, Pavers, and PIB Insurance Brokers in our mission to uplift our community's most vulnerable children. We're proud to have donated £20,000 worth of quality shoes to those who need them most, ensuring that no child is left without suitable footwear this winter and beyond. We've partnered with Door 84, who have already distributed these shoes to over 50 deserving children across York in the run-up to Christmas. But the need continues, and we're asking local schools to aid us in this cause. Our 'best foot forward' initiative is a response to the distressing choices many families face today - between food, heating, and essential clothing for their children. But we believe that no child should have to forego the comfort and dignity of a decent pair of shoes. We know that a new pair of shoes can be empowering for any child, especially those who are often resigned to hand-me-downs. As the cost of living crisis deepens, the need for our initiative becomes even more urgent. We're calling on headteachers and class teachers to reach out to Door 84, so that we can get these shoes to the children who need them most. We're committed to handling this process with the utmost sensitivity and discretion, and we trust our schools to help us in this endeavor. Together, we can ensure that every child in our community is equipped to face the winter with warmth, comfort, and dignity. Let's put our best foot forward, together.
The York Vikings Rotary Club is proud to support the remarkable work of the Funzi and Bodo Trust, a charity that is transforming lives in two isolated mud hut villages in Kenya called Funzi and Bodo. Before the Trust's intervention, these communities lived without the basics of life including clean water and toilets. Today, the Trust is empowering these communities by providing education and training, caring for sick and disabled people, and helping families beat poverty by assisting them to start small businesses with interest-free loans and guidance. Additionally, the Trust is making significant strides in improving local sanitation. We kindly invite you to join us in this mission to bring lasting change to these communities. Your generous donation can make a significant impact and help the Trust continue its incredible work
