£10,000 raised. 44 teams. One unforgettable day at York Golf Club

On Thursday 7th May, 44 teams arrived at York Golf Club for our Annual Charity Golf Day. By the time the last putt dropped, we’d raised almost exactly £10,000 every penny of it heading to the charitable causes we support across York and North Yorkshire over the coming months.

A genuine thank you to every golfer, every sponsor, and every team captain who made it happen.

A special mention to Batchelors Motor Group, our hole-in-one sponsor, who extended the incentive on the eve of the tournament. Cash prizes were on offer for an ace at the 2nd, 11th and 17th holes three chances instead of one. Nobody walked off with the prize this year. Maybe 2027 is your year.

This year’s event was oversubscribed. We turned teams away, and we don’t want to do that again so if you played in 2026, or you’re hoping to play in 2027, please let us know early. We’ll prioritise regular supporters wherever we can.

The cost for 2027 is £350 per team. To put that in context: a visitor’s green fee at York Golf Club is £90 that’s £360 for a four-ball before you’ve thought about food. Your entry includes:

• A round at one of the top-ten golf courses in Yorkshire
• A well-stocked Halfway House
• A two-course meal
• Numerous prizes and individual competitions
• The chance to entertain clients or guests at a venue that turns the day into a hospitality opportunity, not just a round of golf

Golf club charges go up every year. We’ve held the line as long as we could. £350 still represents proper value and it allows us to keep raising serious money for our chosen charities.
